Ancient Egyptians began mining Malachite as early as 4000 BC. In
the Middle ages, malachite was worn to protect from black magic and
sorcery. Many wore Malachite to detect impending danger and lend
extra energy, to relax the nervous system and calm stormy emotions.
Malachite was believed to bring harmony into one's life and to give
knowledge and patience. Malachite was said to regenerate body cells
and to be a sleeping aid. |

Reminiscent of sunset in evergreen forests, the beads
in this lovely 24 inch "matinee" length necklace were hand selected for their quality
and beauty. The deep green malachite, moss green aventurine and
coppery carnelian are all 8 mm beads. There is a larger 10 mm
malachite bead in the center. The necklace is accented with 4 mm
beads of filled 14K gold. It fastens securely with a 14K gold filled
lobster clasp. |
