[PHOTO: Parking Lot Icon] some lots in life, marked
icons of difficulty, rein
seeing, hearing, moving, away
from those with difficulty

unheard complaints, as i don't
unseen person, you won't look
not at me, but you and your fear
of being, where you do see me

a challenge of character ...

FIRST. this page is intended to offer some 'human' insight into a universe most would rather not recognize. for a long time, i took my vision problem as being something "wrong" or "bad". this was not something said to me, but it was a general mindset i had about it. while i can discuss issues centered on sight, that is the limit of my experience. it is my intent to offer perspectives from those with others. we will see. i've already managed to tick one gal off, and i don't "see" why.

SECOND. i am not too happy with the term "disabled". "disability" i find equally inadequate. i am convinced, these terms the product of some "feel good" frenzy offered by those needing a reason to feel better about people like me. i do not have the sense this effort really on my hehalf. and actually, it has taken something from me. "dis" means a loss; something i do not have. but, a handicap, that is something i do have. and all in all, i think it worthy of the effort it demands.
